At the Arc, Targeted Case Management or Service Coordination would more appropriately be called Support Coordination and Advocacy. Using a holistic, individualized approach we provide advocacy and support coordination in school, home, and community support settings. We use our expertise related to DD Supports in the community and schools to assist individuals and families get the supports and services they need to be successful in their personal goals and dreams. It is the right of an individual or family to change providers at anytime.
If an individual has Medicaid the cost of Service Coordination is covered. If an individual does not have Medicaid, sliding scale private pay rates are available.
Independent Living Counseling
Independent living counseling is available to participants in the Kansas WORKS program. The Arc offers a range of supports to assist consumers in setting up and coordinating their own services.
Training and Advocacy
The Arc is also proud to offer training, advocacy, and resource referral.
Self Advocates of Lawrence
The Arc of Douglas County is proud to support the Self Advocates of Lawrence (SAL), an independent, local self advocacy organization affiliated with the Self Advocate Coalition of Kansas (SACK). SAL provides individuals with developmental disabilities opportunities to learn how to use their voice to help empower them so that they reach the highest level of independence and quality of life possible.
The Self Advocates of Lawrence meet every second Tuesday of the month from 4:30-5:30 PM in the Doud Room at the Douglas County United Way Center, 2518 Ridge Court in Lawerence, KS. All area self advocates are encouraged and invited to attend.
